1. Admissions Category
Yunnan provincial government scholarship is open to international student who wish to study at Yunnan University. This scholarships provide financial support to outstanding international students who are pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’ and PhD programs. The students should apply for degree and Non degree programs.  Mode of degree programs: full time such as BS, MS/M Phil and PhD programs, Non degree programs include: Chinese Language   

2. Eligible Countries: Students from Southeast Asia and South Asia are welcome to apply.

3. Requirements for application

Candidates should be belonging to the Southeast Asia and South Asia country.

Candidate must have a good health conditions.

Applicant must follow the rules and regulation that comply by Chinese Laws, respect public ethics and Chinese customs.

Candidates’ fitness circumstance must conforms to the "Health Examination Standards for Foreign Students" issued via the Ministry of Education of PRC China.

4. Age & academic Requirements:

For bachelor’s Degree Program candidates must be the age under 25 and hold a high school certificate.

For master’s Degree Program candidates must have a bachelor’s diploma and below the age of 35.

 For doctoral applicants must be the age under 40 and have a master’s degree.

For Foundation Program candidates must have a High School Certificate or above, and be below the age of 25.

Candidate for Chinese language Program must be the age under 55 and have a bachelor’s degree or above.

Requirements of language for candidates for degree programs must secure total score no less than 180 with hold of HSK level 4 and valid for two years.

5. Application Process

Application deadline: 8 April 2023 Beijing Standard Time. Incompletes applications are not acceptable and may result to disqualifying the scholarships.

6. Required documents:

Applicants should upload the following documents on online system of Yunnan University before the due date.

Entire uploaded docs must be clear valid & authentic. 

Notarized docs must be in English or Chinese that provided by the applicant on online system.

The application form of Yunnan Govt scholarships program and fill out in Chinese or English & upload it on online system.

Applicant must need download Foreigner Physical examination form if the applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months. Fill it, sign and seal from medical doctor (physician), please select the specific time to take Physical examination form as the result valid for 6 months, upload photocopy on online system.

Applicant must need valid Passport. And a white background personal passport size photo (2 inch color crown-free, photo size not less than 320*240 pixel with the ratio 4:3 in JPG format)  

Applicants must provide scanned copy of Notarized Highest degree and Transcripts.

Scholar, Master degree and Doctoral degree applicant must Two Recommendation Letters signed from professor Or Associate professor.

 Applicant should need to provide a Study Plan/Research proposal about 1,000 words in Chinese or English.

Candidates must provide valid Chinese Language certificate (valid HSK) and English language certificate (English proficiency).

Arts students must provide a portfolio work save in CD and music student must submit their works contain 2 color painting, 2 sketches and 2 other works  

Candidate for other discipline/majors may need to provide any other supplementary docs.

Applicant must need to provide a valid NOC/Non criminal record report and also with proof of financial statement.

7. Admission announcement and Notification

It is a merit based enrollment, After carefully reviewing the application of candidates by experts of Yunnan university, the admission docs  of successful candidates will be dispatch to the Education Department of Yunnan province, Finally the admission docs will be delivered to the scholarships recipient by August. A scholarships applicant shall not change duration of study or field of study unless they give up the grant The scholarship will not be gave to the applicants if the applicant cannot register before the due date/ registration deadline
